It is a twenty-seater, mini-open bus that operates in some zones of the park. It is the best option for people who come in large groups and want to enjoy themselves together. For Canter safaris as well, the timings vary as per the season, and the morning and evening safari timings remain the same.

Ranthambore National Park is one of the biggest and most renowned national parks in northern India. The park is located in the Sawai Madhopur district of southeastern Rajasthan, which is about 130 km from Jaipur. Being considered one of the famous and former hunting grounds of the Maharajas of Jaipur, today the Ranthambore National Park terrain is a major wildlife tourist attraction spot that has pulled the attention of many wildlife photographers and lovers in this destination.

Canter Safari is undoubtedly one of the best ways to explore the rich wildlife of Ranthambore National Park. It is a 20-seater open bus that operates in some of the safari zones in Ranthambore. Canter is best for a large group of visitors who, instead of booking 2-3 Jeeps, can choose this option. Canter Safari should be booked well in advance; however, there is also an option of last-minute booking. Both morning and evening canter safaris are available at Ranthambore for visitors. Canter safaris are available between October 1 and June 30.

Safari Vehicles
There are two types of vehicles permitted in Ranthambore National Park: canter (open-top bus) and maruti gypy. Both safari vehicles are open from all sides to explore wildlife in the forest of Ranthambore National Park, which is why they provide the best viewing wildlife experience in the forest.A limited number of safari vehicles are allowed to enter Ranthambore National Park in each shift. A maximum of 140 vehicles are allowed to enter the park at a time by the Forest Department.

A total of 88 jeeps and 52 canters are allotted in all the safari zones of Ranthambore National Park, which includes 58 jeeps for regular safari, 20 jeeps in the tatkal quota, 5 jeeps in the special category quota, and 5 jeeps for full-day or half-day safari. Canters are allocated in all safari zones except zones 7 and 8.
